I've got 2 pages from my art journal to share with y'all this week. This first one I love. I created a collage of galaxy images (from NatGeo magazines) for the night sky, and used a photo of Mount Rainier (that I photographed on one of my hikes) below the night sky. </div>

I received a set of oil paints as a Christmas gift, so most of my extra free time (when I usually journal) this past week has been spent experimenting and learning oils instead of journaling. ;)</div>

Earlier this Fall I won an instagram giveaway that included a couple of these <a href="http://www.nomadnotebooks.com/product/repurposed-xl">Repurposed XL Nomad Notebooks</a>.  These notebooks are filled with different types of papers: white, kraft, cream, graph, tracing and recycled newspaper, which I think is really cool and make for great journal backgrounds.</div>

Step 1. Cut your sweater sleeve to 2" longer than your tin.<br/>

Step 2. Slide the sweater sleeve over the tin. If the sweater is a type that will fray, "hem" the top by folding it under and securing it with glue.<br/>

Step 3. Flip the tin upside down. Cut 4 equally spaced lines in the material hanging off the end of the tin, fold down the material and adhere it to the bottom of the tin.<br/>

Get Messy - Creating a Junk Journal

I did my cover with paper scraps, paints and an interference medium through a stencil for a layered/mixed media/vintage look. I don't think it's my usual style, but I really like it!</div>

I love the interaction lesson, where Johanna talks about adding tip-ins/flaps and envelopes and gives you all sorts of ideas for interactive pages, which I've always found fun.<br/>
