Here's a fun necklace DIY inspired by books!
Supplies:
Upcycled Necklace
Sculpey, or other oven bake clay
Craft Wire
Sharpies, paint pen, or other permanent ink
Tools:
Scissors
Clay rolling pin, or other tool
Oven
1. Using white clay, form cubes, about 1" in size, 1/4" thick.
2. Roll out colored clay (for book covers) into rectangles about 2 1/2" long, and 1/8" thick, about twice the length of the white cubes.
3. Wrap around white cubes, to create a "book". Trim off any excess. With a toothpick or clay tool, draw lines on the white cube's sides to create "pages"
4. Add small lines to the binding side of the book, to make it look more realistic, like a novel.
5. Cut 1 1/2" lengths of craft wire, and twist the ends to form a loop. Insert the ends into the top corner of each book.
6. Bake at 250-275 degrees F for 15-20 minutes.
7. Cool, and thread onto a favorite necklace. Write titles on the covers if you like!
