Get Messy Thursday - Week 5

It is the Season of Music in the Get Messy community, and I am using an altered atlas as my art journal.

Get Messy Art Journal is an art journaling program that is a school, art playground and family. We are a group of like minded art journalers who have come together under this art form to learn, share, practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. Our community values consistent creating, encouragement and suppport and trying new things. We would love to have you join us as a member of Get Messy Art Journal.

You can read more about why I love the Get Messy community here.

I was feeling back in my art journal groove this week!

This week my pages are about Silence.  I tried to represent that on my first page here, with the minimalist background, nothing but watercolors. Silence is rarely actually silent.

And page 2 is about the sound of space, true silence as there are no sounds that in space.

My altered atlas journal is ALMOST filled up, I'm pretty sure it will be by next week. I'm kind of sad, I've loved working in this journal for the past few months!

Do you have a favorite journal?

  1. My favorite is an altered book. At least at the present. But I am always trying out new journals, old journal, handmade journals and anything that I may find at the thrift or flea market. I am a thrift store and flea market junkie.😊

  2. oh these are so serene and calming to me! I love them Katie! I needed that.

  3. So peaceful. I love the sound of silence - well I would love it more if I didn't have tinitus. And altered books are definitely my new favourite as well. I loved my Season of Introspection journal and have found a similar one for another season. The next season might be the one.

  4. The sound of silence is so pretty. I love your watercolor pages!

  5. I love your pages and your process - just been painting a watercolour galaxy from your tutorial on the GM blog - gorgeous!! xx

I love your comments!
