Get Messy Thursday - Panda Bears

It is the last week in the Season of Introspection in the Get Messy community, and I am using an altered atlas as my art journal.

Get Messy Art Journal is an art journaling program that is a school, art playground and family. We are a group of like minded art journalers who have come together under this art form to learn, share, practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. Our community values consistent creating, encouragement and suppport and trying new things. We would love to have you join us as a member of Get Messy Art Journal.

You can read more about why I love the Get Messy community here.

For my first page this week I started out by finger painting a really quick background with acrylic paints, and then I ripped (that sounds so violent) the panda bear out of a National Geographic magazine and taped him into my journal.

This is such a simple page for me, but I actually love it. I used a Tombow Dual Brush Pen to do the lettering and swirls.

Page 2 is on the opposite side of the panda bear page, and I also had done a messy finger painting background on the left page here.

I love reusing art! For example, I drew this girl in my sketchbook months ago, and then I made a photocopy of her to use here in my journal this week.

I wrote a few words to describe my current self.

My last page for the week isn't finished yet. I started it with the gelli print on the right and added the pink paint and then my photo and map, but then I wasn't sure where to go next.

I think I need a bit of inspiration for it, so until then it will wait unfinished. ;)

Do you ever leave any unfinished pages in your journal (or other unfinished craft projects?) ?
I do it more often than I would like. I hate leaving projects unfinished...

It is the last week in the current Get Messy Art Journal season, so I think I may take a 2 week break from art journaling, but you'll start seeing pages from me again after the new season starts in August!
