Adventures in Tea Mixing

This isn't my normal crafty post, but if you know me, you know I love tea. That's one of the many things I have in common with my Aunt. ;) Earlier this month my Aunt gave me a tea mixing kit for my birthday (Thanks!).

I drink both bagged and loose leaf tea, but I hadn't tried mixing up my own loose leaf tea before now. The kit came with a variety of teas and herbs.

Mint is my favorite tea (right after good old black tea) so I decided to start with making my own mint tea. The "scoops" are teaspoon-ish sized. In my tea bag I put:

  • 2 scoops of black tea
  • 1 scoop of white tea
  • 1 scoop of mint leaves
  • a sprinkle of dried rose petals.

I have fresh mint growing in my garden, so I took a small branch of it and placed it in my teapot as well.

The taste of the mint and rose petals mixed so well together, I don't think I'd tried rose tea before now but it was interesting! I don't think I'd want too much of it, it's a bit flower-y. It was good combined with the mint though.

Are you a tea lover like me? What's your favorite tea? I'd love to know!

  1. How fun! At some point in my life, I'd like to attempt growing my own tea, and drying the leaves and such. Mixing it sounds like so much fun!

I love your comments!
