Galaxy Frame DIY
Hello Everyone! My name is Katie and I blog over at Running with a Glue Gun. I'm super excited to be guest blogging on Punk Projects today and I'm even more excited to share this DIY.
Katie and I have a love for outer space/galaxy/moon projects, so today I though it would be fun to show you guys how to make your own (hand painted) galaxy frame.
Supplies: Wooden Frame, Paint ( in black, blue, purple, pink and white), Paintbrush, Sponge, Glitter (optional)
Step 1: Paint your frame black.
Step 2: Using your sponge, lightly sponge on some blue paint all over your frame. If your not comfortable with ''eyeballing'' your paint, you can look at some galaxy photos for some guidance and inspiration. For this project I used this photo as a guide.
Step 3: Using a clean piece of sponge, lightly sponge on your purple paint.
Step 4: You can probably guess what I'm about to say (haha) but take another piece of a clean sponge and lightly sponge on your pink paint. While your paint is drying you can sprinkle on some glitter for that extra touch.
In between steps 2-4 you can go back and add in more paint of each color.
Step 5: Dip your paintbrush into some white paint and start ''splatter painting''. Just flick your paintbrush here and there until you get the look of ''stars'' on your frame. You can also dip a piece of sponge into your white paint and use it to lighten up some places on the frame (like I did in each corner).
When your paint is all dry, pop in a picture and your done!
I (Katie from Punk Projects) want to thank Katie for guest posting! I love everything galaxy related and her hand painted frame is just amazing, isn't it?? Be sure to check out her blog when you get a chance.
