Glitter Shirts DIY
For the past few years, whenever we go to the Great American Scrapbook Convention, we have made our own fun shirts to wear. Last year we wore shirts with Minions on them, and this year we decided to make glitter shirts!
To answer what is probably your first question- no, they aren't washable!
These were meant to be just a one day wear. Just fun shirts that we could wear to the convention. These would be great for festivals, conventions, even concerts!
Although they aren't washable, we did seal them so that the glitter won't just come off at the touch!
Supplies: White Cotton T-shirts, Spray Adhesive, Chunky Glitter, Mod Podge Spray
1. Spray the bottom edge of your shirt with spray adhesive. Move your spray can further back as you work your way up so that you get less adhesive on the shirt as you get toward the top, giving the glitter an ombre/fading out look.
2. While your adhesive is still tacky, pour glitter on to your shirt. I recommend putting a good amount of glitter along the bottom 2 inches and then shaking that glitter up your shirt.
3. Pour any excess glitter back into your glitter jar.
4. To seal your shirt, spray it with 2 coats of Mod Podge Gloss Sealer spray. While this won't make it washing machine proof, it will keep the glitter from just coming off at the touch.
So, what do you think? Would you wear a glitter shirt?
