Glasses Case DIY

Did you know? Today is National Sunglasses Day!

I don't wear sunglasses very often- I have really long eyelashes, which is great but they tend to rake against any glasses I wear whenever I blink which gets a bit annoying after a while. I do have a pair I wear when I'm cycling though.

I made up this cute glasses case recently, I'll probably give it to Taylor. I'm also sharing a tutorial with you guys. You could make this for either sunglasses or eye glasses!

Supplies: Fake Leather, Felt, Fabric, Fabric Glue, Sewing Machine

1. Cut your leather and felt into 8"x8" squares, Use your fabric glue to adhere the felt onto the back of the fake leather. You don't need to glue the edges, but glue the middle so it doesn't move around.

2. Use a zig zag stitch to stitch along the top edge of your leather/felt.

3. Cut your fabric into an 8"x6" piece and use the fabric glue to lightly adhere it to the top of your leather, lining it up with the bottom. Stitch along the top edge of your fabric, as pictured below.

5. Fold your leather in half and cut the bottom corners into a curved edge. You can use a cup, or something else circular to trace the edge.

6. With your case folded in half, Stitch along the 2 open edges, sewing them together and going around the curved edge to the bottom. This will finish up your case!

I saw this fox fabric at the quilt store and had to get a fat quarter of it. Because.... What does the fox say?

  1. This is super cute Katie! I would probably have to change my needle before sewing through leather. It's only sewed through paper so far.
