We have a bunch of patterned scarves that a friend gave us just waiting to be used as projects, like this scarf headband. I don't like to have anything touching my neck (not even necklaces, I'm weird, I know.) so I don't wear scarves very often. They are a fun material to use in sewing projects though.
I whipped up this fun, boho style headband and I'm sharing a tutorial if you're interested in making your own!
Supplies: Patterned Scarf, Sewing Machine, Elastic Scrunchie, Needle and Thread.
1. Cut a 9" x 23" strip from a fun patterned scarf.
2. Fold your scarf in half and stitch down the long edge, Flip it right side out so that the seam is on the inside and you have a tube.
3. Use a needle and thread to cinch one end up to about 1". Tie off the thread, Repeat with opposite end.
4. Fold one end of your scarf over your elastic and stitch it down so that the elastic moves freely. Repeat with opposite end of scarf, looping it through the elastic and stitching it back down on itself.
The scrunchie makes the headband stretchy so that it fits pretty much any size head. :) I think it's a very bohemian style headband, perfect for Spring!
