My Details Blog Hop

Today I'm participating in the My Details blog hop (so no Make it Monday post today)! If you haven't heard of this awesome new workshop, I highly recommend you check it out. You can also use the code PUNKDETAILS to get $2 off the workshop! Now onto my project:

The prompt for the blog hop is "Thinking". I used the prompt to design a page in my art journal, drawing/writing my brain and how I tend to think too much.

I taped on 2 mixed media tags I'd made onto the left side of the page. By just taping the edge they can flip up and show what's underneath, which is where I drew myself and a few thoughts that are frequently in my head.

I'm really quiet around people other than my family. Quiet on the outside anyhow, inside my brain however my mind goes wild.

I started by sketching out the girl, then coloring her in with gelatos. I added in color around her as a background to all my thoughts.

I'm giving away a place in the My Details workshop and you have until this Thursday to enter! If you purchase the workshop and then win a spot, You will be reimbursed!

  1. I love your illustration-- and I totally get what you mean about over thinking. It's hard to "rein" my brain in sometimes!

  2. Everything is so gorgeous about this: I especially love the colors you used.

In the flesh, quiet people make me nervous. Because I talk SO MUCH when I get excited, I always have a moment later when it dawns on me that I kind of overtook things and worry that the quiet person might think I was annoying or didn't like me. I know that it's rarely the case, but I still have a complex about it :)

So if we ever hang out, you'd just have to feel free to tell me to shut up or tell me you're cool with the overtalking :)

    1. I used to do mostly scrapbooking, but I've gotten more & more into artsy things like this! My best suggestion is to start an art journal and just play!
