Fireworks Photography

Today I'm sharing a bunch of photos I took of fireworks on the 4th of July. We watched fireworks on both the 3rd and the 4th. That meant that I had a "practice shoot" on the 3rd, experimenting with camera settings, angles, etc, and then on the 4th I set up my tripod and got some amazing shots. I'm thrilled with how they turned out.

I also had a really hard time narrowing down the photos to post. ;)

While we were waiting for the show to start, I did a little bit of light painting. This is what you get when you combine the self timer + the flashilight on my cell phone:

Did you take any firework photos?

  2. Your photos look awesome, Katie! And I'm so sorry I missed your question to me on Twitter- I actually didn't see it until a couple of days after the 4th. :(

    1. Thanks, Melissa! No worries about the tweet. I ended up using my zoom lens, which I think worked pretty good. :)
