As I mentioned in my last post, I stocked up on some cute washi tape this week. (LOVE clearance washi!) Since I have so many cute rolls of tape now, I wanted to do a fun project using them.
I use a lot of pencils. I love them. I use them for drawing, doodling, chewing on (ha!) and of course writing with them. Anyhow I was thinking.. "Why not cover my pencils in washi and make them cute?"
Supplies: Washi Tape, Pencils.
1. Cut a piece of tape the length of your pencil- from the metal to the pointy end.
2. Line up one end of your washi tape.
3. Roll your pencil onto your washi tape. For 1/2" pieces of tape, it will take 2 strips of tape to cover the pencil. a 1" piece will go all the way around.
I think they turned out pretty adorable.

ReplyDeleteWow, that's a great idea!! I might have to try painting the metal part. Yours sound really really cue. :)
DeleteJust wondering what will happen when you need to sharpen the pencil? Will the sticky tape gunk up your pencil sharpener?
ReplyDeleteI recommend peeling off the washi tape slowly as you need to sharpen your pencil. the great thing about the washi is that it is removable so you should be able to peel pieces off fairly easy.
DeleteI love this idea! its really fun and inspiring! I'm now a follower!
