Valentines Pop Tarts + Recipe

I've never shared a recipe on here before, but I made these for breakfast and thought "Hey, why not post these on my blog?!" so here they are. ;)

Homemade Pop Tarts Recipe
12 pop tarts

For Pie Crust:
•   1 1/2 cups flour
•   1/2 teaspoon salt
•   1/4 cup shortening
•   1/4 cup butter, softened
•   3 tablespoons cold water

1.   Preheat oven to 450°F

2.   Combine flour and salt in a large bowl. Add shortening and butter and blend with a fork, pastry cutter, or your hands. Blend until mixture is fairly coarse. Add water, 1 tablespoons at a time, gently mixing dough after each addiction until dough forms a ball.

3.   Place dough on a lightly floured surface and roll into a square/rectangle. To about 1/8 thickness. Cut your dough into heart shapes, make sure they are the same size!

4.   Take one pie crust heart and put 1 teaspoons of jam on top. Cover with another pie crust heart and crimp all four edges using a fork. Repeat with the rest of dough.

5.Place Pop-tarts on a baking sheet with parchment paper, and bake for 7-8 minutes. Enjoy!
